Yeah!!! My econs paper is finally over. Phew! At last i'm able to breathe a hugh sigh of relief. Haha. Well, this paper was 1 of the killer ones amongst the 4 exams which i had. I reckon it to something like a hugh load that's been weighing heavily on my mind & now it's finally been taken off. Next up, accounts, though it's also another killer paper. Haiz.. Anyway, after studying so hard over the past few days, a few of my mates in school decided to chill-out earlier after our paper was over. The stumbling block was we could not decide on the place as not all were keen on my idea of pubbing over at my regular place which was BQ. In the end, brought them to CAN cafe which was located opposite Bugis Junction. Though not exactly what some of them wanted, but overall was still not too bad either. I really like the ambience over there. Very cosy & homely type of feeling. Probably best suited for couples who do not know where else to head to in a date. There's a few games for u to play too, for eg. poker cards & fingerfood & drinks whereby u can choose between alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks. Furthermore, for smokers, it's the best place as u are allowed to smoke in the premises. Well, we just relaxed ourselves & our minds, playing games, drinking beer, cracking jokes, disturbing others etc. Was really quite a funny sight to behold, especially the part whereby we sort of poked fun at a fat guy that looked a bit like a potato. Anyway, here's sort of a riddle for u guys. Can anyone of u guess what's this picture all bout?

Make a guess what's this?

Read up on a very interesting article which i would like to share with everyone in the papers "Digital Life"(pic below) published yesterday though i only managed to come across it earlier due to my busy schedule. It was titled "power to the blogger", and it stated that a new global study showed that one's blog really matters. As in to say when u write a blog entry bout, say, that burger u ate for lunch, the world is reading. The cool thing is, so is the buger company. Basically u could mentioned bout anything, for eg. if u love the latest Starbucks coffee blend, but think it's too expensive, or maybe the new McDonald's burger needs a dash of spice; well, say it on your blog. Blogs do not just generate interest that stays in the virtual world. What goes on in the blogosphere has real-life impact. The potential impact of blogs are being watched worldwide. With blogs, whether it is a case of love it or hate it, your opinion is put out on the internet within seconds, and to anyone who cares to look for it. That makes sure that brands and their products are continually improving, always in beta testing mode, as it were, and creates a dynamic relationship between the consumer and advertiser. Take for eg. Mr Miyagi. He once had a run-in with the cafe Cedele, when he realised the menu did not accurately reflect how spicy the food was. After suffering from much tongue-burn, he wrote bout it on his blog. A few days later, he got an e-mail from the chain's operations manager who told him that they had made changes to their menus. Well, Mr Miyagi was naturally very impressed.

A global study by 1 of the world's largest media communications companies Universal McCann showed that blogs have opened a backdoor communication channel to advertisers in a massive way. The survey, which included S'pore, found that almost all of the people were familiar & closely connected to blogs. More than half of them on average wrote & updated their own sites, and 8 in 10 people who blogged said that they both expected & practised "ethics of the journalist" - Truthtelling - in their online posts. Furthermore, bloggers who have more readers or write more often will also be more indexed by search engines like Yahoo etc. Blogs are not only more acessible & easier to update, but the amount of information, categories and just sheer numbers also makes them a good chanel to get feedback from. Some major companies like OCBC bank has started monitoring blogs to see what ppl say bout it. Said Ms Koh Ching Ching who was the head of the bank's corporate communications, "Blog monitoring has provided us with entertaining nuggets of daily chatter, compliments & feedback on the bank. We sift out the ones that are critical for us to act upon immediately, as some posts might be an indication of a latent issue that is brewing." Others like Mr Ruhne Fiala, the director of marketings at Nokia's multimedia division, said that bloggers were seen as "technology consumers." He said "technology is definitely changing the way ppl share opinions & recommendations for products, like through blogs or vlogs. We try taking these kinds of changes into account." As i reflected upon this meaningful & interesting article, a thought suddenly flashed across my mind. What would Motorola do if they had read my blog, would they change their approach towards their customers? As i pondered this question to myself, i couldn't stop but kept grinning. (",)
